A Suva lawyer is today claiming that Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption is not capable of weeding out corruption in Fiji.
Rajendra Chaudhry, who is also a former co-chair of the Fiji Sports Council said FICAC does not have trained and qualified investigators to investigate white collar crimes.
Chaudhry also claimed that a person with a legal background should be leading FICAC and not George Langman as he does not have the capability to provide legal advice to his investigators.
He further claimed that FICAC is not transparent and was charging some prominent people to gain media attention.
The Suva lawyer also claimed that some investigators were just brought into FICAC without qualification and has blamed this for FICAC's downfall.
In an interview with Fijivillage the Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said FICAC is here to stay and here to do a job.
