Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry said he is appalled at the mischievous and highly selective reporting by Fiji Television on his advertisements on food prices.

According to Chaudhry, in its main news report aired yesterday afternoon, Fiji TV said that in an advertisement placed in the local papers two weeks ago, he had asked people to grow more food and had provided no other solution to the current crises caused by rising food prices.

In a statement this afternoon, Chaudhry claimed that certain media organizations, doctor news to suit their particular political agenda.

Chaudhry said he is pleased that government has now taken several measures to soften the impact of global crisis on people but he said this is only a short term measure.

When contacted this afternoon, Fiji TV News Director Mereana Kitione only said that people can access their news piece from their website.
