Interim Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum maintains that the work of the Draft Peoples Charter will not be stopped because the stay order granted by Justice John Byrne has the powers to give the go ahead.
Sayed-Khaiyum also said the question of the single judge to hear the injunction is clarified under Section 20 of the Court of Appeal Act.
Interim AG said the actions by Judge Bryne was procedural.
The Interim AG was reacting to questions from the media in a press conference on the stay order by Appeals Court Judge Justice John Byrne on the ruling by Justice Filimoni Jitoko to stop all work of the Draft People's Charter.
