The intentions of the People's Charter need to be questioned if this is the spirit in which the Charter is being imparted.
These are the words of Fiji Women's Crisis Centre Deputy Coordinator Edwina Kotoisuva who said the right of the people to appoint their own government through a democratic election is being denied.
Kotoisuva said while they welcomed initial talks between Interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama and deposed Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase, the statements by the Interim PM are worrying.
While opening the new extension of the Ro Rabici Methodist Church yesterday, Interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama had used the opportunity to inform the people that he has told ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase and Methodist Church President Rev Laisiasa Ratabacaca that if politicians do not agree with the formation of the People's Charter, there will be no elections in March next year.
