Charges against many of the Methodist Church ministers and officials in relation to the breach of the Public Emergency Regulation, have been withdrawn by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Official sources from the DPP's Office have confirmed to Fijivillage that although 27 church ministers and officials were facing charges, only 4 Methodist Church executives are now facing charges before the court.

It has been confirmed that the charge against Reverend Ame Tugaue and Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu for one count of organizing a meeting in contravention of the PER still stands and Reverend Tomasi Kanailagi and Reverend Manasa Lasaro are still facing a count each of participating in a meeting in contravention of the PER.

Just last week charges against Ro Teimumu Kepa were dropped.

Ro Teimumu and the 27 church officials and ministers were charged for allegedly breaching the PER when they were trying to organize the Methodist Church Conference in Rewa last year.
