Charges against one of the doctors who allegedly breached the public service code of conduct when dealing with the case of 5-year-old Shavneet Kumar, have been dropped.
Public Service Commission Chairman Rishi Ram told Fijivillage that four doctors were charged in relation to Kumar's death after he had slipped in a coma following an operation on his arm.
After day one of the hearing yesterday, charges against one of the doctors was withdrawn.
When Fijivillage questioned the PSC Chairman on why the charges against the doctor were withdrawn, Ram said they had no other option.
The hearing is expected to conclude today.
The Health Ministry is expected to comment later today.
