Charge high tariffs for imported goods.
That's the belief of the state owned Food Processors Fiji Limited which said high tariff rates on imported food substitutes will allow local food processing standards to become internationally competitive.
However, the Board Chair Berny Nicholls said these tariff barriers must apply for a limited time only to prevent local companies from becoming too complacent.
She adds that the country's current situation has not affected their exports and they will continue to seek new opportunities for exports.
