Secretary and Coca-Cola Games chief organizer Vuli Waqa said changes have been made to the age groups to try and increase participants in the Junior and Sub-Junior grades.
Waqa added there are intervals of two years in all the grades except for the Sub-Junior grade where an athlete could represent a school for three years.
So athletes from the age of 12 to 14 are eligible to take part in the Sub-Junior grade, students who are between the age of 15 and 16 will now take part in the Junior grade, the Intermediate grade will have 17 and 18 year olds while 19 to 20 year olds will compete in the Senior grade.
The 2014 Coca-Cola Games will take place on the 24th and 25th of April.
