There could be major job losses in the construction industry as there is a shortage of supply of cement in the country.
President of Fiji Masters Builders Association and owner of Raghwan Construction Vijay Raghwan said the shortage of cement can put a halt to the industry and they have been forced to assign other jobs to their workers which are not associated with using cement.
The general manager for Standard Concrete Mosese Nailumu referred all queries to Fijian Holdings Limited Chief Executive Sereana Qoro and said a press release is being prepared.
It has been revealed that none of the hardware companies in the country have supply of cement which is a major concern.
