Chairperson will be independent: Tikoduadua
Those are the words of the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office Lt Colonel Pio Tikoduadua when calling for expressions of interest to participate in the Forum which will commence in February next year.
Lt Colonel Tikoduadua confirmed they do have some people in mind.
He said the National Dialogue Forum is in preparation for a consultative constitutional forum to start in September 2012.
However to join the Forum, Tikoduadua said there are certain conditions one must adhere to before joining.
The conditions are:
1. Their interest in the dialogue forum must focus on Fiji's future
2. Their principles must not be inconsistent with the principals annunciated in the People's Charter for Change Peace and Progress
3. They must not have any pending criminal charges or proceedings in Fiji's court system
4. They must not represent political organizations based on communal representation.
The deadline for expressions of interest is Christmas Eve this year while the National Dialogue Forum is proposed to convene by
1st February next year.
