Chairman and CEO resign
A reliable source has confirmed this afternoon that the two resigned today.
This follows revelations that an investigation was carried out focusing on a huge payout received by one of the company’s managers following his resignation from the company.
It has been confirmed that the outgoing manager received a $155,000 payout and a company car.
Following his resignation it was also discovered that the CEO had authorized this although the outgoing manager was not entitled to these benefits.
Our sources say the link was clear when it was discovered that the same manager allowed the company's Chief Executive Officer to get two salary packages.
It was then established that apart from her normal CEO package, she was also receiving the salary of a board chairman of one of the subsidiary companies.
Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama intervened into the matter.
Although he has refused to comment, Fijivillage has been told that the former Manager has now returned the car and a third of the $155,000 payout.
We have tried to contact the Chairman and the CEO today however we have been unsuccessful.
However our sources confirm that the two have resigned from their positions.
Reliable government sources have also confirmed to Fijivillage that the government is carrying out proper assessments on the performance of the people appointed by the government.
This is to ensure that they remain focused and also to address issues relating to corruption, fraud and abuse of office.
