The Commerce Commission will now be taking a pro-active role in educating businesses on the trade practices allowed and prohibited in Fiji following several complaints received by the general public.

Commission Chairman Dr Mahendra Reddy said they are concerned with the business practices undertaken by some businesses in the country adding that they are now investigating a complaint from a beverage company who are alleging that a leading supermarket has refused to buy and sell their drinks because they have an exclusive contract with certain suppliers.

Reddy said they have written to the Fiji Employers Federation, the Fiji Chamber of Commerce and the Fiji Retailers Association and they will start a road show to educate the business community.
