The Chairman of the Great Council of Chiefs Review Team has raised concerns that certain elements are allegedly trying to sabotage their work and are influencing members of the provincial councils not to join the new look GCC.
After confirmation from Nadroga/Navosa High Chief Ratu Sakiusa Makutu that his province will not be part of the new GCC, Ratu Josetaki Nawalowalo said certain elements are manipulating the Provincial council members.
Nawalowalo adds that the decisions of the provincial councils who have rejected the new look GCC does not reflect the true wishes of the people as there are other chiefs willing to come on board.
The Lomaiviti Provincial Council also rejected the new look GCC after the Review team made their presentation to the council in Levuka.
The Review Team will make their presentation at the Tailevu Provincial Council meeting this Wednesday.
