Fiji Industries Limited is hopeful that cement supply will normalize later this month.

Fijian Holdings Limited chief executive Sereana Qoro said Fiji Industries, which is owned by FHL, has run out of good quality clinker to mill at this time and the next clinker shipment does not arrive until 23rd July.

The milling will commence as materials are discharged.

She added the company thought that the last lot of clinker material was of acceptable quality but this was not so.

According to Qoro, because the company can only sell cement that meets stipulated international quality standards, they have decided to wait until the next shipment which arrives this weekend.

The cement company is bringing in two shipments of cement on the 13th and the 21st totaling 2,060 tonnes for customers.

Cement supply is expected to normalize by 25th July.

None of the hardware companies in the country have supply of cement.
