Lawyer representing the President of the Fiji Law Society has requested that a caution be handed to her client who has been found guilty of seven charges of alleged unsatisfactory professional conduct and professional misconduct.

Tupou Draunidalo this morning asked the Independent Legal Service Commission to take into account the fact that her client Dor Sami Naidu has had 30 years experience and also had an influential post and therefore a caution would only be warranted.

She stressed that if the caution was handed down on her client, other lawyers would also learn as he was the President of the Legal fraternity.

However, Connors then said that this would not be a mitigating factor however it would only exacerbate the issue as Naidu has been found guilty of accessing client’s money in the firm's trust fund which was not a normal process.

Connors has stood the matter down until later this afternoon where he is expected to make a judgment on sentencing.
