The National Fire Authority (NFA) is expected to know the cause of the PAFCO factory fire in Levuka this week.

Chief Fire Officer Mark Reid confirmed his senior officers are currently putting together a report on the investigations into the cause of the fire which he said will be released early in the week.

The fire happened last Thursday at PAFCO's storage room.

The Fire Authority also managed to prevent the fire from affecting a nearby restaurant petrol station and a large diesel tank.

They responded with two permanent officers and twenty trained volunteers with two fire trucks to put out the fire.

Early investigations indicate a severe electrical malfunction from the mainly supply into the maintenance building.
