The Fiji Rugby Union has made its stance that the possibility of France-based wing Rupeni Caucau making it to the World Cup is highly unlikely.

Chief Executive Officer Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua said that the FRU is not considering Rupeni Caucau for the World Cup at this stage as he is currently serving a suspension for testing positive for the use of cannabis.

FRU Board member Viliame Varasikete stressed that even though Caucau's suspension ends after Fiji's first pool game, getting him into the team would be unfair to the rest of the players who have been training just as hard.

Varasikete added that Rupeni's suspension handed down by the French Rugby Union under the directive from the IRB is from all levels of rugby and includes the World Cup.
