The Catholic Education Office has made it clear that although they respect the right of their Catholic teachers who are members of the Fijian Teachers Association, all their schools will remain open.

The Director John Pickering said they are also conscious of the right of a child to be educated. He said for Catholic Teachers, teaching is not only a profession but also a vocation as the Catholic teachers consider others before themselves.

He is calling on all Head teachers and Managers of the Catholic Schools to ensure that schools remain open and normal process of supervision and the safety of students be the priority.
