The opening leg of the IRB Sevens Series in Dubai is still a week away but the message in the Digicel Fiji Sevens Team camp is clear, and that is they need to start well in their buildup this weekend in Sri Lanka.
Speaking to Fijivillage before leaving this morning, Tanivula highlighted a few areas he will need his boys to improve on this weekend.
Tanivula said with most of the players making their debut, they cannot afford to play catch up rugby when playing against teams like New Zealand, Samoa, England and Australia.
Fiji in the Sri Lanka Sevens is in Pool A with Korea, Spain and Malaysia.
For the Dubai Sevens next weekend, they will be grouped together with Portugal, England and France in Pool D.
