All Black first five Dan Carter will take over the place kicking duties for the Crusaders this weekend in their Super Rugby clash against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld.

Carter has not kicked at goal since injuring his groin during last year’s World Cup

Assistant coach Dave Hewitt said Carter has trained well this week and has taken the advice of his medical staff on when he could return to place kicking duties.

With Carter kicking Ryan Crotty returns to second five in place of Tom Taylor.

Crusaders will face Bull at 3.05am on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Rebels will host the Blues at 9:40 tonight in the lone Super Rugby match for today.

In tomorrow’s matches the Hurricanes face the Sharks at 7.35pm followed by the Reds and Brumbies at 9.40pm and Force will take on the Chiefs at 11.40pm.

On Saturday, the Highlanders take on the unbeaten Stormers at 7.35pm.

On Sunday, the Cheetahs take on the Lions at 1am.
