Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder has hinted that his star playmaker Dan Carter could return next week to face the Western Force.

Carter was given time off to be at his wife’s side for the birth of their first child so he missed the Crusaders tour of South Africa.

The Crusaders beat the Stormers but lost to the Sharks yesterday and Carter’s goal kicking was sorely missed in their 21-17 loss.

Meanwhile in other results, the Hurricanes beat the Waratahs 41-29, the Melbourne Rebels outclassed the Western Force 30-23, the Cheetahs snatched a 26-24 last minute victory from the Stormers, the Blues beat the Highlanders 29-18, while the Brumbies and the Kings drew 28-all.

The Crusaders take on the Force this Saturday at 11.45pm.

At 7.35pm this Friday the Highlanders take on the Brumbies.
