All Blacks first five-eight Dan Carter is set to become the first rugby player to earn more than $2 million Fijian according to media reports in Europe.

Reports suggest a deal with French club Racing Metro could be confirmed as early as next week saying Carter could join the club after next year’s Rugby World Cup.

It said that Toulon was also interested in signing Carter but Racing appears to have won the bidding war.

Four Japanese and three English clubs were thought to have been chasing Carter.

It would be Carter’s second stint in France however he played just five games before a serious injury which ended his time with the club.
