Police are looking for unknown people who broke into 14 cars parked at the Carpenters Motors car yard in Walu Bay on Saturday night.

This has been confirmed by Assistant spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita who said that the discovery was made yesterday.

Thieves stole car stereos, speakers and other items which were inside the car.

Police is calling for more information and has warned members of the public to refrain from buying stolen items as it is a serious offence adding that those found doing so will be dealt with severely.

Meanwhile, police have questioned and released two people for allegedly breaching the Public Emergency Regulation.

Assistant spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the two allegedly organized a meeting at a hotel in Suva yesterday where more than 30 people gathered.

It is alleged that the public gathering took place without a permit as required under the Public Emergency Regulation.

According to police, the two will be taken in again for questioning if the need arises.
