A 25 year old carpenter from Naseakula, Labasa, appeared in the Labasa Magistrates Court this afternoon charged with the alleged murder of a Lomaloma villager over the weekend.
Varasiko Mainikoro who is charged with one count of murder has been remanded in custody.
Magistrate Anare Tuilevuka has also transferred the case to the High Court due the seriousness of the crime.
Mainikoro will now appear in the High Court on the 5th of next month when a plea is expected to be taken.
It is alleged Mainikoro assaulted the 24 year old villager to death outside a nightclub in Labasa town on Friday night.
