A 23-year-old unemployed man was given a 6 month jail sentence suspended for 12 months, after he pleaded guilty to a charge of careless driving.

Jeremaia Tubucake on the 26th of May this year drove a vehicle at Rodwell Rd at high speed and failed to negotiate a bend hitting a bus which resulted in the vehicle veering off the road and hitting a lamppost.

Both vehicles sustained damages.

Tubucake was also disqualified from driving for the next 3 months.
