With less than two days until Stade Jean Bouin hosts round nine of the HSBC World Sevens Series, the 16 captains joined together to launch the tournament yesterday, returning to Paris for the first time since 2006, in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower.

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team leads the series by eight points as they look to defend the series title they won in London last year.

South Africa are their closest challengers, with Neil Powell's side aiming to win a first series title since 2009.

Fiji’s captain Osea Kolinisau says the team looks strong to produce something special for all the fans.

Meanwhile Blitzboks captain Philip Snyman says they are looking forward to the weekend and will make sure to stick to the basics and their game plan.

Fiji will take on Scotland in their first pool match of the Paris 7s at 5.44am on Saturday.

We take on Wales at 9.14pm Saturday and our last pool match is against Samoa at 12.47am Sunday.

The Paris 7s Cup quarters will start at 9.13pm Sunday, the Cup semis will start at 1.03am next Monday while the Cup Final will kick off at 4.15am next Monday.
