Fiji Pearls captain Matila Waqanidrola said it will be a ruthless battle tomorrow when they will face the Papua New Guinea netball team in the Digicel Tri Series Plus One Championship.
Waqanidrola said this year is very important for them as they are preparing for next month’s Pacific series and are also focusing on the qualifying round for the World Netball Championship.
She said Fiji Netball players will try to display their best performance to earn a spot for the World Netball Championship.
Papua New Guinea Netball captain Winnie Mauara said Pacific teams always play with a lot passion against each other and the same can be expected tomorrow.
Meanwhile, former Wallaby and Melbourne Rebels player Mark Gerrard’s sister Mo’onia Gerrard who is a Tongan born Australian netball player will be in Fiji during the championship and will be coaching the Tonga netball side.
The Fiji Pearls will play the PNG Pepes at 7pm tomorrow at the Vodafone Arena.
At 4.35pm, Tonga will play Fiji A.
