A 31 year old South African National appeared in Nadi Magistrates Court today charged with one count of being in possession of arms and ammunition without a license.
It is alleged that on 3rd July this year, Calvin Burger who is the captain of a Yacht was found in possession of arms and ammunition.
He appeared in Nadi court last Friday but the Magistrate had disqualified himself as he knew the accused counsel and transferred the matter to Lautoka court.
The case is now transferred back to Nadi Magistrates court as the accused now has a different counsel.
Burger has been released on cash bail of $1000 with lesser amount of surety and has surrendered his passport.
He has been ordered to report to Namaka Police station or the Border Police station on every Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The case will be called tomorrow in Nadi Magistrates court.
