Police are expected to lay charges against the senior official at the PM's Office and military officer Captain Seremaia Tuiteci as soon as he is released from the CWM hospital which is likely to happen later today.

Captain Tuiteci is expected to be charged with drunk driving and assaulting a police officer.

Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni confirmed yesterday that Captain Seremaia Tuiteci was arrested last Friday and it is understood that Captain Tuiteci allegedly resisted arrest.

Commodore Teleni stressed police officers acted accordingly and the case against Captain Tuiteci would be dealt with.

It has been confirmed the civil servant hit a taxi at Macgregor Road on Friday night. He was allegedly under the influence of liquor and failed to stop when Police tried to stop him.

Police than later went to a Suva apartment and tried to arrest him when the civil servant is alleged to have assaulted a Police Officer.
