At just 23-years-old Sam Cane has been chosen as the All Blacks captain for their Rugby World Cup match against Namibia and Coach Steve Hansen says he is a smart rugby player and has never played poorly for the All Blacks.
Hansen says they are looking to the future and have chosen Sam Cane because of this.
Meanwhile Sam Cane says he was not expecting the decision made by his coaches and that leading the greatest rugby team in the World is something which he highly respects.
Meanwhile, Liam Messam, has been ruled out of tomorrow's match against Namibia with a calf injury.
Messam had been named to make his first World Cup appearance in the number six jersey.
He will be replaced by Jerome Kaino.
The All Blacks will face Namibia at 7am tomorrow.
