Affected farmers will lose close to $4.5 million in gross income if the mill stops crushing on the 21st December.

These are the sentiments of Fiji Cane Growers Association's General Secretary, Bala Dass who said that nearly 80,000 tons of sugar will remain standing in the fields.

The Sugar Industry Tribunal made the decision to terminate crushing at the Labasa mill on the 21st of December after considering submissions from the sugar commission.
