A 29 year old cane cutter of Labasa has been arrested for allegedly defiling and abducting a 13 year old girl earlier this month.
Police have charged the cane cutter with 36 counts of defilement and will appear in the Labasa Magistrate court on Monday.
According to Police, the man allegedly took the girl to his home and kept her there for more than a week.
The cane cutter is alleged to have defiled the girl a number of times during the week.
The girls parents had earlier reported to Police that their daughter was missing from home and upon search Police found the girl at the cane cutters home.
The cane cutter is also expected to be charged with abduction.
