The Rakiraki Sugar Cane Growers Council Director has raised concern on the problems faced by the farmers of Rakiraki.
Marika Silimaibau said the poor road condition of the cane access roads is a hindrance for them and the money allocated to them for the maintenance of the roads is not enough.
He also highlighted that the funding which they receive from the European Union is given at the wrong time.
Silimaibau said farmers face problems after they receive their cane payments. He has also raised concern on the late delivery of fertilizers.
He had urged authorities to look into their problems.
