ACT Brumbies flyer Henry Speight will draw inspiration from a 13‑year‑old Fijian cancer survivor this year and use his advice to play pressure‑free rugby as he sets his sights on a Super Rugby title and World Cup selection.

Speight has declared he will start the season with a weight lifted from his shoulders after ending a four‑year eligibility saga to make his Wallabies debut on the spring tour of Europe.

But while winning a championship with the Brumbies and playing at the World Cup are his main goals, his inspiration comes from kids with cancer in Fiji.

Speight was part of the WOWS Fundraising Campaign two years ago, met 15 children with cancer and now ten of them have died.

This has encouraged him to shave his afro and raise AUS$30,000 for the Walk On Walk Strong foundation.

Speight said a young boy called Lagi touched his heart after giving him a powerful advice about life.

He said Lagi walked up to him and said to enjoy every day, live for every moment because tomorrow is never guaranteed.

Speight has been the Brumbies' top try‑scorer of the past two seasons.

The Brumbies will host the Reds at 9.40pm next Friday while the Crusaders takes on the Rebels at 6.35pm.
