It was a proud moment for 15-year-old Ravin Prasad when the Digicel Fiji 7s team visited the Children’s Ward at the CWM Hospital today.
Prasad, who is diagnosed with cancer and has been in hospital for two years, broke down in tears when captain Benito Eremasi visited him.
Prasad said this is one of the happiest moments of his life.
Digicel Fiji 7s coach Alifereti Dere said the players were inspired by the visit and they have a reason to win gold at the Pacific Mini Games.
Meanwhile, the Fiji 7s team will only travel with 10 players as three of the Nadroga players, Ratu Meli Kurisaru, Sakiusa Gavidi and Apisai Domolailai, were disciplined for not attending camp.
Benito Eremasi has been named captain of the side.
Team Fiji will leave for Wallis and Futuna this Saturday.
