Tomasi Cama has become the first Fijian to win the IRB 7s player of the year.
The 30 year old former Nabua secondary school student was named after his New Zealand team won their 10th IRB 7s title series this morning.
Cama was nominated last year but failed to win as Cecil Afrika took out the award.
The Kiwis playmaker finished with 34 tries and his goal kicking helped him to 390 points for the season.
He also ends the season second in the all time point scoring charts with 1,627 behind England's Ben Gollings.
Cama becomes the fourth New Zealand player to win the prize, following Orene Ai’i, Afeleke Pelenise and his captain DJ Forbes.
Meanwhile Fiji won the London 7s title this morning after beating Samoa in the final 38-15
