Fiji born and Manawatu based Tomasi Cama and Jordan Puletua have been ruled out of the New Zealand 7s side for the Australia 7s in Adelaide this weekend due to injury.

Coach Gordon Tietjens has called in Luke Hamilton and Jeremy Cave as replacements while the Bay of Plenty's Lance MacDonald also joins the team for Victor Vito, who has rejoined the Hurricanes squad in South Africa.

Tietjens said that losing a senior player like Cama is always tough but this is an ideal opportunity for Hamilton to show his stuff.

Zar Lawrence will be rejoining the team in Adelaide tomorrow following his brother's Maori funeral.

New Zealand start their Adelaide campaign with a match on Friday night against World Champions Wales and then face Tonga and USA on Saturday.

The Adelaide 7s kicks off at 7pm on Friday and Fiji's first game is against Scotland at 8:28pm.
