The Education Ministry has called on the government analyst to carry out a test on jelly like toys called crystal balls or magic balls following claims that it is poisonous.
The jelly like Magic or Crystal Ball comes in different colours and once placed in waters they grow bigger.
It is being used by students as toys.
The Education Ministry said a test needs to be conducted in order to ascertain whether it is toxic or not as the safety and welfare of children remains a priority for them.
The Ministry has also urged Police Drug Unit and the National Substance Abuse Advisory Council to look into the issue.
