A 23yr old man was today sentenced to four years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to being the informant in a $67,000 heist in August 2003.

While sentencing Felix Vusonitokalau this afternoon, Magistrate Ajmal Gulab Khan highlighted that the case against him was unlike other robberies as far as his role was concerned.

Felix earlier admitted following a company vehicle of J.S Hill which was carting the money and calling others involved in the plan, on the location of the vehicle as it approached Lami where the armed robbers were waiting with beer bottles, can knives and stones.

Magistrates Khan said Felix took part in the planning and the partial execution of the robbery and shared in the loot but left the actual physical robbery to other gang members.

He said however, that Felix played a vital role for the robbery to succeed, as without his information the plan would have not been possible.
