The Fiji Police Force has this afternoon confirmed the call they received regarding the ten people missing in the Kadavu Passage is suspected to be a hoax.
The Force is deeply concerned regarding the matter as more than thirty thousand dollars was used in the search operation by both the Police and the Fiji Navy.
Police Spokesperson, Atunaisa Sokomuri has also confirmed they have traced the call which was made around 6.10 yesterday afternoon and they expect the caller to be arrested soon.
Sokomuri said this is the second time in this year where an hoax call has been made to Police and thousands of dollars lost in conducting the search.
