Asena Vai from Cakaudrove won the first gold medal at the 2010 FMF Chow Games after she beat 28 other runners in the Under 12 girl’s 1500 meter event.

Neighbours Bua/Macuata have also excelled in the 1500 meter race after winning 1 gold medal and 3 silver medals in the Under 12, Under 13 and Under 14 grades.

In the boy’s category, Farisiko Mualivu won Suva Blues first gold medal in the Under 13 boy’s 1,500 meter.

Mualivu said competition was tough but he is happy he has overcome the race.

Looking at the medal tally, in the girl’s division, Bua/Macuata lead with 1 gold and 3 silver, in second place is Cakaudrove and Nadi with 1 gold each and in third place is Ra with a bronze medal.

In the boy’s division, Suva, Bua/Macuata and Lautoka lead with a gold each, second is Nadroga/Navosa with 1 silver and in third place is Ra and Ovalau/Moturiki with a bronze medal each.
