The Ministry of Primary Industries is working with all the stakeholders in Cakaudrove in trying to identify various land lots which face drainage problems.
The Director for Land and Water Resource Management Division, Lakshman Mudliar said so far they have identified 24 sites.
He said the Ministry has negotiated for funding from the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations Regional Program Food Security to assist in the construction of drainage network with crossings.
He said they have proposed up to $1million.

Mudliar said they hope to get the funding from the UN's Food and Agriculture in the first half of this year after which the Ministry will start with drainage improvement.
