Cakaudrove chief, Ratu Talemo Ratakele said he will attend the Bose ni Turaga meeting next week at Queen Elizabeth Barrack, after receiving the invitation letter from Interim Prime Minister, despite the fact that his high chief, the Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu has stated his intentions in boycotting the meeting.
Speaking to Fivillage News from Taveuni, Ratu Talemo said, Ratu Naiqama did not call any Bose Vanua meeting for Cakaudrove Chiefs, to decide on whether those received the invitation letter can attend the Bose ni Turaga meeting.
Meanwhile, 135 Chiefs from the 215 Vanua have so far confirmed their participation in the two-day Bose ni Turaga meeting.
Media liaison officer, Kini Rarubi said the response so far has been encouraging and they expect more numbers by registration time on Monday afternoon.
The agenda for the two day meeting includes the presentation from the Interim Government on the road map back to parliamentary democracy. There will also be presentations from the Fijian Affairs Board, Native Lands Commission, the Nadave School and the Health Ministry.
