A 13 year old record has been broken on the opening day of the Fiji Primary Schools Athletics meet, which is known as the FMF Chow Games at the Post Fiji stadium.

Stella Marist student, Willmar Cagi competing for Suva District broke the record in the under 12 girls Long Jump event. The new record now stands at 4.74 while the old record was 4:55 set in 1994 by Nadi districts Titilia Latianara.

Speaking to Village sports after breaking the new record and winning the gold medal, Cagi said hard work has paid her off.
