One of Fiji's historical landmarks is currently undergoing renovations to improve its conditions for the benefit of the Fiji people.

The Health Ministry said renovations to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital began last year with the help of Corporate Sponsors undertaking and funding the revamping of certain wards.

Spokesperson Iliesa Tora said renovations are being carried out in phases and the Ministry is now concentrating on the left wing of the hospital, with work on the Sukuna Ward to begin next week.

Tora said this will cost $1million.
