The Public Service Commission (PSC) has stressed that Cost of Living Adjustment or COLA payments for civil servants will be scrapped from this year.
Chairman Rishi Ram said the decision has been made by the PSC and the unions are now being informed.
According to Ram, COLA will now be replaced by Performance Management System.
Meanwhile, Fiji Public Service Association General Secretary Rajeshwar Singh has raised concern on Ram's statement saying that no formal talks were held with the unions.
Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions General Secretary Attar Singh said they will not accept PMS and said Rishi Ram has no right to make such decisions.
