A member of the Ecumenical Centre for Research Education and Advocacy (ECREA) said the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) is good for all workers of Fiji as it helps people keep up with the cost of high living which is currently being faced in Fiji.
Father Kevin Barr while addressing the Prime Minister’s Mini Economic Summit at the TradeWinds yesterday said too much has been stressed on productivity and this can cause us to lose a balanced perspective on the world of work, including the need for decent wages and proper working conditions.
Father Barr said COLA is a matter of simple justice.
Meanwhile, the president of the Fiji Employers Federation Ken Roberts said that COLA does not help in the growth of our economy.
The Prime Minister’s Mini Economic Summit is currently being held at the TradeWinds.
