The Chairman for the Constitutional Officers Commission is expected to meet with the Interim Attorney General this week to consult on the new Supervisor of Elections.

Commission Chairman, Rishi Ram said a suitable candidate who had applied and was shortlisted has been earmarked for this position however, they need to do some background checks.

He believes a decision will be made soon.

New Zealand lawyer Maurice Coughlan refused to take up the position last month following revelations that he was disbarred in 1992.
