The Criminal Investigations Department is still liaising with the military's legal unit in relation to the death of Nimilote Verebasaga's in military custody last year.
Director CID, Superintendent Waisea Vakamocea has confirmed that talks are still underway between police and the military to take action against a soldier who has been implicated in the brutal killing.
The Director of Public Prosecution Office handed the file to police for necessary steps to be taken however, nothing has come up so far.
Meanwhile, police are still conducting further investigations into the death of 19 year old Nadi student Sakiusa Rabaka after he was assaulted by a group of soldiers and a police officer.
Police handed the file to DPP however the DPP recommended that further investigations be conducted.
The soldiers and the police officer implicated have been questioned.
