The Criminal Investigations Department is now awaiting responses from Interpol in relation to investigations conducted against ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase.

Director CID, Waisea Vakamocea said the report from Interpol is expected to be handed to them soon after which the investigations will proceed.

Interpol is expected to gather statements from the Prime Ministers of New Zealand and Australia whether Qarase requested for foreign intervention before and on 5th December last year.

Team CID officers has already questioned Qarase in relation to the allegations.
